Sometimes you don’t get all your questions answered just by reading the bio. So we’ve put together the top 10 burning questions you’ve asked Jess:
  1. How do you pronounce your last name?
It is spelled Weiner and pronounced WEE-NER. Like the hot dog. Yes, it was an embarrassing name to have growing up. Yes, I got teased. Yes, I’ve heard every Weiner joke imaginable. No, you can’t try a new one on me.

  2. Are you related to that chick lit author Jennifer Weiner?
Nope. Not related. But I think she writes cool books.

  3. Do you really walk on fire?
Yes, I do. The trick to walking on fire is that you stay focused in the moment and don’t think about walking on fire. It is a great exercise in concentration and meditation. And no, I haven’t gotten burned.

  4. What is your biggest pet peeve?
Being called Jennifer.  When I was 15, this total hottie I met a party leaned down and gave me a kiss and called me Jennifer, instead of Jessica. Totally scarred me. Don’t call me Jennifer. It’ll make me cry.

  5. Why do you care so much about women and girls?
Well…this one is easy. Cause I am one. And I remember what it felt like growing up and not feeling like I fit in or not believing in myself. So I wanted to create a career where I spent every day helping girls and women find their own voice and believe in themselves.

  6. Are you close with your family?
Yes, extremely. They are my rock. And we like to laugh. We have funny nicknames for each other. If you read my books, you can figure it out.

  7. Are you married? Do you have kids?
Nope, not married…yet. I’d like to be married someday. And I don’t have any kids of my own but I feel like I am a mother/mentor to thousands. I have great respect for parents out there. It’s the toughest and the most rewarding job there is.

  8. I have a cute cousin, can I set you up?
Um, it depends. Send me a picture and let’s talk about it!

  9. What do you like to do when you are not working?
Ah, this is a hard question for me to answer because I love what I do so much it never feels like work. But to be fair, when I am not speaking or writing, I like to swing on the swings, I like to chill in my hammock and read, go to the movies with my sister, the beach with my friends, and I volunteer. I love to go white water rafting and parasailing when I feel adventurous.  (I feel like I just filled out a personal ad!)

  10. What is it like to live in Hollywood and work in the media?
Well, it’s a double edged sword, really. I love living in Los Angeles and working in the entertainment industry. But sometimes you can lose sight of what is real and what is fantasy. That is why I like to travel across the country and speak at schools and businesses. It gives me a chance to get a new perspective. But come on, you can’t beat 75 degree weather in January!
